DESERVED REWARD: Club champion Larissa Chambers receives her impressive trophy from Luke Banch, of Bremer Chiropractic.
OLYMPIC gold medallist Glynis Nunn-Cearns provided plenty of motivation for the region’s leading club athletes.
Nunn-Cearns was guest speaker at the recent Ipswich and District Athletic Club break-up.
“Glynis had everyone under a spell as she gave a brilliant talk on how she began as a nine-year-old old from Toowoomba to a 23-year-old gold medallist in the heptathlon in 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles,” club official Vic Pascoe said.
“It was a tremendous story as it had every athlete in awe and they just wanted to be photographed with her.”
Club champion was Larissa Chambers, who received her award from MP Ian Berry.
Sponsors Bremer Chiropractic representative Luke Banch presented the U/20 years best performers male and female.
Les Scott presented the Les Scott Encouragement Award to athletes with promise.
